Certification Process

Complaints and Appeals

CI International Certification (CI) is committed to ensuring transparency, fairness and impartiality in all its certification activities. Organizations and stakeholders may formally raise appeals or complaints concerning CI’s certification decisions, audit conduct, or related services.

  •  An appeal may be submitted if an organization disagrees with a certification decision (e.g., refusal, suspension or withdrawal of certification).
  • A complaint may be submitted if an organization or stakeholder is dissatisfied with the conduct of CI personnel, auditors or services provided.

All appeals and complaints must be submitted in writing and will be formally reviewed by impartial and competent personnel who were not involved in the subject of the appeal or complaint. CI ensures that each case is handled objectively, confidentially and in accordance with ISO/IEC 17021 requirements.

A formal investigation will be conducted as necessary, and appropriate corrective actions will be taken where applicable. Complainants and appellants will be informed of the outcome in a timely manner.
